Functional Training

Physical therapy should help you do more than complete exercises in a clinic. Functional training at APTOR Physical Therapy connects your treatment to the activities you need or want to perform in everyday life.

Depending on your needs and goals, functional training may involve practicing:

  • Getting into and out of a chair

  • Using stairs

  • Getting into or out of a vehicle

  • Lifting and carrying

  • Reaching overhead

  • Walking on uneven surfaces

  • Completing household activities

  • Performing job-related movements

  • Returning to exercise or sports

  • Outdoor activities and hobbies in the yard, garden or woods

Your physical therapist can adjust the difficulty of these activities as your strength, balance, movement and confidence improve.

Share what you’re experiencing, what activities have become difficult and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. We’ll evaluate your needs and recommend an appropriate path forward. Most insurances accepted.
